3 Wedding Stationery Questions I Get Asked Most Often

As a wedding stationery designer, I am here to answer all of my clients’ questions from concepting, to design, to printing, to mailing, and beyond. Here are some of the questions that come up most often throughout the process:

1) “What is the difference between an escort card and a place card?“

Escort cards “escort” guests to their seats by sharing their table number (seen here in a potted plant display). Seating charts and escort card displays serve the same purpose.

Place cards tell them which plate/seat at the table is theirs!

2) “What does ‘letterpress printing’ mean?”

Letterpress printing involves taking a metal plate, covering it in ink, and then pressing that plate into the paper. This impression is what creates the texture when you run your finger over it!

3) “Should I be considering materials other than paper?”

Absolutely! Bringing in textures besides paper makes your invitations and day-of paper feel truly custom. I have worked with acrylic, vellum, oyster shells, rattan, silk ribbon and twine to name a few.
